PHAEDRA
Presented by the Harlequin Senior Youth Theatre
A powerful and stylish piece of theatre that moves between the classical and the modern, evoking the timeless nature of the central themes of passion and incestuous love. Phaedra, married to Theseus King of Athens is consumed by a forbidden love for Hippolytus, son of Theseus’ earlier marriage. Meanwhile the Palace is besieged by reporters and fans clamouring to get a glimpse of the same young man! ‘Love moves and the whole forest roars.’

The Education and Particpation Department would like to acknowledge grateful thanks to Fidelity International for their continued support.
Harlequin Outreach was launched in 1999, since when it has grown and developed to be one of the most significant education and community arts organisations in the South East.
Each year Outreach works with over 6,000 young people on a variety of youth arts and educational projects.
The Aim of Outreach is to encourage young people to explore their creativity and to develop a lasting relationship with the arts.
How do we do this?
Classes, workshops, participation in shows and youth arts events. The youth theatre is huge, but that is only a small part of our work with young people.
The Ethos – encourage, facilitate, teach but don’t preach.
If a young person needs help with a script, an audition piece, to learn how to work lights, a work experience placement, an injection of confidence, career advice – we will do our best.
TPartners - Outreach works with a wide variety of partners, including ECH Actors, Orbit Shed, Folio Youth Theatre, Shakespeare Schools Festival, Evergreen Theatre Company, Four S, Surey PRU’s and Surrey Day Centres.
Support - We would like to thank Fidelity International for supporting many of our productions in 2008.
